Friends and neighbors,
If you’ve been missing live music this summer, Friday night presents a minor scheduling problem. Johnny Rogers is running through several decades of rock ’n’ roll at Arts Bonita, while South Street has Loverboy and Aerosmith tribute bands playing a double-header the same night. Apparently, August is having an ’80s moment.
The weekend gets a little quieter with free Dixieland jazz at the Norris Center, followed next week by a free night at The Baker Museum, mahjong on The Perry’s rooftop and, for those willing to plan ahead, Spanish wine and charcuterie aboard a sunset cruise through Estero Bay. That last one only has a few tickets left.
Hope you find something worth putting on the calendar!
Warmly,

1. The History of Rock ’N’ Roll with Johnny Rogers
📅 Friday, August 21 | 7:30 PM
📍Arts Bonita, 10150 Bonita Beach Rd., Bonita Springs
Johnny Rogers packs several decades of rock history into one night, moving from Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry through The Beatles, Beach Boys and Rolling Stones. 2. Loverboy & Aerosmith Tribute Double-Header
📅 Friday, August 21 | 8:00–9:30 PM
📍South Street, Founders Square, 8845 Founders Square Dr., Naples
Two tribute bands split the bill at South Street Friday night. Get Lucky opens with Loverboy staples like Working for the Weekend and The Kid Is Hot Tonite, followed by Aerosmith Rocks taking on the catalog of Boston’s famously unruly rock band. It’s part of South Street’s Up Close and Personal Concert Series. Advance general admission is $30. Event info.

📍Norris Community Center, 755 8th Ave. S., Naples
The Naples Jazz Society brings its Jazzmasters back to the Norris Center for another afternoon of traditional jazz, with an emphasis on the music of the late 1930s. The concerts have become a dependable summer tradition and it helps that there is no ticket charge, although donations are appreciated. Event info.

You could spend every day out exploring Naples. You could also save one afternoon for the house.
Start with the heated waterfall pool, then fire up the grill, settle in by the fire pit, or spread out in the oversized fenced yard under the mango trees. Kayaks and paddleboards are nearby when you want to get back on the water, and the beach, downtown Naples, and Fifth Avenue South are all within easy reach.

Poll Results: The Usual, Please
Last week we asked: What’s your most-frequented local spot?
Here’s where you landed:

The coffee shop won with 30.8% of the vote, followed by the neighborhood bar with 25%. Coffee probably has an unfair advantage here… I can justify stopping for it just about every day, which is considerably harder to do with happy hour. Thank you for all the votes!
This Week’s Poll: Evening Plans?
What gets you out of the house on an August evening?
Why It Matters
That’s it for this week.
Whether you end up singing along to ’80s rock, spending an afternoon with the Jazzmasters, or simply saving one of next week’s plans to your calendar, I hope there’s something here that gets you out of the house and around Naples.
If you go to anything we featured, hit reply and tell me how it was. I always love hearing what you’re enjoying around town.
Have a wonderful weekend!
