Friends and neighbors,
When August comes around, I find myself with renewed urgency to think about all the bucket list items I intended to complete before the summer ends.
This week, I’m bringing your attention to some of the deals that end in August, including taking advantage of the Flavors of 5th dining promotions, as well as the Dining Passport at The Ritz-Carlton. I’m reviewing one restaurant I’ve had my eye on and giving you the full rundown of promotions happening until the end of August.
Here’s to finding inspiration to make these last summer meals count. What have you been trying lately?
Happy noshing,

Sofra: USA Today Top 10 Restaurant for Only $39
From now until Aug. 31st, both Ritz-Carltons in Naples are offering a promotion at four of their restaurants to encourage diners to stop by. Their “Dining Passport” menu offers a 3-course meal for $39. If you haven’t found a reason to dine at The Ritz-Carlton recently, here’s your excuse. These are your options:
Sofra (Mediterranean) at The Ritz-Carlton Naples
Nolita (Italian) at The Ritz-Carlton Naples
Bella Vista (Contemporary American with Cocktails) at The Ritz-Carlton Naples Tiburon
Rita (Latin American) at The Ritz-Carlton Naples Tiburon
If you only pick one, here’s my pitch: You should at least try Sofra, which USA Today readers chose as one of the top 10 best hotel restaurants in 2024. This Eastern Mediterranean restaurant is offering a fresh take on classic flavors, with an upscale and refreshing twist. If you want a change from the usual menus in Naples, Sofra is the perfect pick.

The Menu
Sofra offers a menu that pulls from various Mediterranean cuisines, including Turkish, Israeli, and Lebanese. For starters, they offer Okra, Eggplant, or Vegetarian Dumplings. The Eggplant is particularly flavorful and is a favorite. For mains, you can’t go wrong between Chicken skewers, Spinach and Cheese Kofta, or Levantine-style beef and lamb. I’m partial to lamb, which comes with a generous portion of saffron rice and is nicely seasoned. However, I’m glad they always have vegetarian options. Dessert is either Greek yogurt sorbet with honey or a delicate rice pudding. My advice: get the rice pudding and you won’t be disappointed. Plus, they also offer a $25 wine pairing for 3 international pours if you want to turn it into a full culinary experience.
The Vibe
Sofra serves nothing less than a high-quality dining experience—what you would expect from The Ritz-Carlton. Exceptionally attentive service, dishes explained in detail, and thoughtful suggestions. The space is beautiful and quiet, so you can have a special evening where you don’t have to yell to hear your dining mates.
The catch?
You need to make a reservation. They have some availability on OpenTable, but you can also call for reservations.
Let me know if you stop by!
Flavors of 5th: August Prix Fixe and My Picks
Another deal to catch before summer ends is Flavors of 5th, running now through August 28th. This restaurant event raises money for the local nonprofit Beverly’s Angels. This organization supports local Naples families with everyday needs like bedding, clothing, and home essentials, as well as gifts during the holiday season.
Seventeen restaurants are participating in this event, which, like Sizzle, donates $1 for every prix fixe meal sold. Here’s a rundown of all the restaurants, including what they offer:

Varied Pricing
Aqua — 3-course at $30, $50, or $60 (higher tiers include a house cocktail or wine)
Del Mar Naples — Complimentary appetizer & dessert with entrée (Entrées $37–$69)
$35–$50
Pazzo! Cucina Italiana — 2-course + house wine | $35
Vergina Restaurant — 3-course | $36
Keewaydin’s — 2-course + house cocktail or wine (4:30 PM–close) | $39
The French — 3-course (Thurs–Sun, 4–6 PM) | $39
Osteria Tulia — 3-course | $39
Ottimo Cucina and Bar — 3-course | $39
Chops City Grill — 3-course (+30% off any bottle of wine) | $49
$55–$59
Bha! Bha! Persian Bistro — 3-course | $55
Le Colonial — 3-course | $55
Lola 41 — 3-course (before 6:00 PM) | $55
Bistro 821 — 2 entrées + bottle of wine (All day Sun; Tues, Wed–Sat 5:00–6:30 PM) | $57
Caffé Milano — 3-course | $59
Truluck’s — 3-course (+30% off select wines) | $59
$65+
Ocean Prime — 3-course | $65
Sails — 3-course | $99
My Picks
The French – Classic French comfort dishes done right, served in a warm, romantic brasserie setting. It’s one of my go-to date night spots, especially if I can snag one of the patio tables for people-watching on Fifth. It can get a little loud, but the meal is always satisfying.
Bha! Bha! – Authentic Persian classics layered with spices and flavors you don’t often find in Naples. It’s a refreshing change of pace from the usual menus in town, and portions are generous even in the prix fixe menus.
Truluck’s – A stylish Naples classic steak and seafood destination that doesn’t feel like it’s part of a chain, though it is. Their seafood dishes and their service have a refinement and consistency I appreciate, which makes for a special night out.

Your Poll Results: Happy Hour
Last week’s poll asked: What’s important to you in a happy hour?
Here’s where you landed:

Our readers can agree that happy hour is mainly for the drink deals, which I can appreciate. When I’m in the mood for purely cheap drinks, I head to Hogfish Harry's.
This Week’s Poll: Prix Fixe Preferences
We’re coming up on a slew of special prix fixe menus in Naples, from Flavors of 5th to Sizzle Dining.
When you try a special prix fixe menu, what’s the deciding factor?
Why It Matters
These deals let you eat well for less—think Sofra’s $39 three-course and the Flavors of 5th prix fixe—while your dinner helps Beverly’s Angels support local families.
If any of this sounds good, snag a reservation soon; most specials wrap at the end of August.
