One more thing you should know before the weekend: Lake Park Diner has introduced a new seasonal happy hour menu and it’s one made with neighbors in mind.
If you've never been, the restaurant has an interesting backstory. It began as the Smith Organics food truck before opening its first brick-and-mortar location in Lake Park with a mission to serve casual food with sustainable sourcing and quality ingredients. The name suggests a classic diner, but the restaurant is its own thing entirely: a counter-service eatery where the menu ranges from smash burgers and hot dogs to cauliflower bowls and rotisserie chicken. Quality ingredients and reasonable prices have helped make it a neighborhood favorite.
Available every day from 2 to 6 p.m., the new seasonal happy hour menu starts with $4 draft beers, $5 house wines, and $6 well drinks. Food specials include a $4 mix-and-match fries and onion ring basket, two buffalo chicken or al pastor tacos for $5 and four wings for $6.
Looking for late lunch or early dinner? Their two entrée combos come with your choice of draft beer: an Ultimate Smash Burger with fries for $16, or a Big Dog with fries for $13.
Lake Park Diner's new happy hour feels made for the people who actually live here. But if you happen to miss it, their prime rib French dip is reason enough to stop in anyway.
