Friends and neighbors,

I love that the dining deals seemingly never end, but now summer is winding down. This edition is inspired by recommendations from you—the readers of The Naples Florida Review. You’ve reminded me of some incredible deals around town, and I wanted to highlight a few that are worth taking advantage of before the summer savings end.

Also, I’m curious. Do you share my “affliction,” an insatiable sweet tooth that always makes room for ice cream after dinner? I’ve highlighted some of my favorite ice cream spots in town with both gourmet and classic flavors. Craving a scoop of nostalgia in a homemade waffle cone? I’ve got you covered.

I’m sure this list will spark debate, so let me know if I missed your favorite spots. Many thanks to you this week for sharing your knowledge and being part of this community!

Cheers,

Your Recs: 3 Top-Tier Summer Menus You Shouldn’t Miss

Since our last popular edition, a couple of you reached out to me with more recommendations of summer dining deals you’ve been particularly impressed by. Peruse the menus and see if one sticks out—the deals won’t last forever!

1. The Claw Bar

📍 221 9th St S, Naples, FL 34102
Dinner Wed–Thu 4–9pm, Fri–Sat 4–10pm
🔗 theclawbar.com

Why You Should Go:

The Claw Bar has an incredible atmosphere—dark and sultry that makes you feel like dressing up. They’re serving a 3-course, $49 prix fixe this summer where you can’t go wrong. Their seafood is always fresh, with delicate sauces and beautiful presentation. Plus, it’s hard to leave disappointed after one of their beignets. With generous portions and great service that makes you feel like you did them a favor (I’m not kidding), I’ll always recommend this spot.

2. The Syren

📍 909 10th St S, Naples, FL 34102
Dinner nightly 4–9pm
🔗 syrenoysterbar.com

Why You Should Go:

The Syren is a relatively new waterfront restaurant in the marina with a chic nautical theme. Our readers have yet to be disappointed here, and right now they have a 3-course summer menu for $45. The food is well-cooked, well-seasoned, and comes piping hot (always a big plus in my book). Right now, try the delicious pimento cheese starter and triggerfish schnitzel. The service is warm, the views are lovely, and the food hits—what’s not to love?

3. Veranda E @ Hotel Escalante

📍 290 5th Ave S, Naples, FL 34102
Dinner Thu–Sun 5–10pm

Why You Should Go:

This summer deal was sent to me by a reader, and their menu is one of the most varied I’ve seen around town. I’ve picked this spot for ambiance before, as the secluded patio dining by the lighted palm trees and upscale menu makes it perfect for a special occasion. For the prix fixe price, you’ll get an incredible meal—great presentation with balanced plates that are perfectly cooked, made complete by the magical setting. I recommend the Short Rib or Kung Pao Seafood for entrées.

Tip: Don’t be discouraged by the “members only” note when you go to book. Membership is complimentary; you simply fill out a slip of information upon arrival to sign up.

Top 5 Naples Ice Cream Spots: Scoop Showdowns

Summer in Naples means one thing: finding the coldest, creamiest scoop in town to satisfy my sweet tooth. Here are five spots I keep coming back to, each with its own reason to go.

1. Fernweh Ice Cream

📍 2740 Bayshore Dr

Fernweh is a newer favorite on the list run by the kindest locals. Flavors rotate weekly and they are always pushing the envelope, with flavors you can’t find anywhere else like oatmeal cream pie, bacon bourbon, and even boozy scoops. The move here is to order a flight of six flavors so you can taste their creativity all at once.

2. Cesibon Gelato & Sorbet

📍 8807 Tamiami Trail N

Technically, they don’t serve ice cream, but their Italian gelato (made daily) deserves a spot on this list. If some of these other spots are too sweet for you, this is the one to check out. The pistachio is classic, as well as their dark chocolate almond, but my personal favorite is the classic stracciatella. This is one of those spots you’ll swear by after you go once.

3. Royal Scoop

📍 829 Vanderbilt Beach Rd

📍 7335 Radio Rd #104

Royal Scoop has been a Bonita institution since 1979 with two locations in Naples. This is the family-friendly, classic American ice cream shop serving generous scoops in every flavor you can think of, with many fun choices for the kids. It’s a no-brainer pit stop after the beach, and one scoop is plenty filling, ideally in one of their homemade waffle bowls.

4. Naples Ice Cream Shoppe

📍 1269 Airport Pulling Rd S

A no-frills, local ice cream shop with more than 30 flavors, plus vegan and sorbet options. This is a charming after-dinner pit stop when you have family visiting. They also do fun spins like sundae-wiches and milkshakes. They have a rich peanut butter chocolate flavor that is a personal favorite.

5. Scoops Ice Cream & Acai Bowls

📍 2378 Immokalee Rd

📍 15215 Collier Blvd #318

Scoops is big on variety with 50+ flavors and is proudly owned by Naples locals. Thankfully, they also do a four-scoop ice cream flight, which lets you try several flavors without committing to just one. Fan favorites include Cookie Monster, Butterscotch Crunch, and Parking Lot Party (vanilla with swirls of fudge and caramel, topped with Oreo and Heath bits). Delish!

I’ll always shy away from picking favorites, because each one of these spots has its specialties and serves separate moments. Did I leave out your go-to spot?

Poll Results: Prix Fixe Preferences?

Last week’s poll asked: When you try a special prix fixe menu, what’s the deciding factor?

Here’s where you landed:

  • “It has to be reasonable to walk in the door, if it doesn't have a good reputation, I will not consider going. I'm very fussy when it comes to food so a vegetarian or chicken dish is a must.” – J.K.

  • “I only go to places where I'm excited about at least one option for each course! I love menus that are creative and interesting without being too out there or over the top.” – B.M.

Prices will only get you so far, and our readers know which restaurants are worth it based on reputation. Thank you for all the feedback—I appreciate hearing from you.

This Week’s Poll: Grocery Shopping?

Why It Matters

Local picks and quiet-season pricing help you plan smarter and spend less, so you can book the meal, the stay, and the treat that make the last weeks of summer feel easy.
