🍾 The Perry Gets Poppin': Grand Opening Celebration & A Peek at Tigress

I finally got to sample a tiny taste of Tigress last Thursday when I attended the grand opening of The Perry Hotel Naples. Tigress has been open for months, but life has been busy lately and I hadn’t made it over—until now.

The grand opening was a great excuse to get out and check out the hotel with two local friends who also happen to be moms and business owners. The atmosphere was casual, welcoming, and packed. Much of the who’s who in the Southwest Florida restaurant scene showed up, and the fashion definitely did not disappoint.

I didn’t get to eat as much of Tigress’s food as I wanted—we were too busy socializing and exploring the hotel—but what I did have was great. I especially enjoyed the fried rice, which was perfectly done and had just the right amount of flavor and texture. It’s definitely a spot I plan on going back to when I can actually sit down for a full meal.

The Perry team is calling this North Naples’ newest boutique luxury hotel, and after getting a look inside, I get it. The design is modern but comfortable, and it feels like the kind of place you could easily recommend to out-of-town friends—or stop by yourself for a drink and sunset view.

If you haven’t been yet, you can check out The Perry (and make a reservation at Tigress) here.

Foodie Feedback: Your Favorite Sweet Treat is Ice Cream

A big thank you to all of the readers that participated in last week’s poll and wrote in with their favorite picks! Ice cream edged out the other choices and other write-in picks included Reese’s peanut butter cups, gelato and fruit pie.

One reader who picked carrot cake gave a shout out to the monstrous slice that you can get at Hogfish Harry’s. I agree that it is one of the best in town. I also completely agree with the reader who picked key lime pie and wrote in to say “The tangier the better. Forget the meringue!”

📚 Exploring Art & Faith: Local Author Stephen Auth's Visions of the Divine

A book about a spiritual journey through art might not seem like the most obvious project for the executive vice president and chief investment officer of Federated Global Equities—but somehow, local Naples author Stephen Auth has made it work… twice!

A follow-up to his popular Pilgrimage to the Museum, Auth’s latest release, Visions of the Divine: An Artistic Journey Through the Eyes of Faith, invites readers on a global exploration of how some of history’s greatest masterpieces offer glimpses of the divine.
