Friends and neighbors,

When I last hosted Thanksgiving, I ditched the turkey and served ribeye basted in rosemary butter, no complaints allowed. Of course, I still had all the classic sides: green beans, potatoes au gratin, and the softest potato rolls to round out the meal.

If you’re not planning to take on the Herculean task of cooking a full Thanksgiving dinner, I’ve rounded up the best Naples spots for pick-up and catering that still deliver flavor at a variety of price points. And if you need a local rental to put up your holiday guests, call Dana and save on fees.

Speaking of steak, there’s more news for downtown food lovers: Tulia Italian Steak has opened in the former home of The French, bringing a modern Italian steakhouse to Fifth Avenue South.

I’m also looking to put together some gift guides in the coming weeks. Have a favorite gift shop or local company? Let me know by emailing [email protected]. I might feature them in an upcoming newsletter!

Thank you for being here,

There’s a New Steakhouse Downtown: Betulia Expands with Tulia Italian Steak

There are new changes underway on Fifth Ave South. Tulia Italian Steak, the latest creation from Chef Vincenzo Betulia, has opened in the former home of The French, bringing a modern Italian steakhouse to the heart of downtown Naples.

This fall, Betulia reimagined the space of The French into a classy steakhouse, repurposing the red banquette seating to fit a moody steakhouse. The idea for Tulia Italian Steak didn’t come out of thin air. Betulia piloted his idea in a small dining room tucked behind The French, where he had quietly created a 16-seat, speakeasy-style steakhouse. The little room became a hit with locals and confirmed to the chef something telling: downtown was ready for more steak. Over time, beef dishes began to dominate The French’s menu, and by the end of the season, Betulia was ready to face the music: his best-seller was steak frites.

That realization led to Tulia Italian Steak, a concept that marries ever-popular Italian comfort food with a steakhouse. The menu features USDA Prime and Japanese A5 Wagyu cuts, alongside their handmade pastas like bucatini cacio e pepe, pennoni alla vodka, and tortellini with Prosciutto di Parma and black truffle. And yes, the steak frites are still on the menu. The beverage list expands on The French’s legacy with rare pours, caviar service, and Italian-inspired cocktails that make for a lively aperitivo hour.

Plus, Betulia has still kept his speakeasy-style lounge in the back, a cozy hideaway for pre-dinner spritzes or late-night drinks. With Osteria Tulia and Bar Tulia already beloved local favorites, Tulia Italian Steak feels like a natural evolution for Betulia’s growing culinary family in a larger, more upscale space.

Poll Results: Supped at Supper Club?

Last week’s poll asked:  Have you dined at The Supper Club before?

Here’s where you landed:

Leading the majority was yes - and you can’t wait to see the new space. A strong divide between those that would and wouldn’t go back. That’s the thing about taste - it’s so personal! I’m glad I covered this, thank you for sharing your opinions.

This Week’s Poll: Thanksgiving Plans?

Staying here or heading out for the holidays? I’ll be visiting family outside of Naples for the holiday. But I’m curious:

Why It Matters

Holidays are about being present, not pressured. Ordering smart keeps the flavors high and the fuss low, while spending with local spots fuels the Naples scene we love.

Tell me where you’re sourcing your feast (or your leftovers strategy), vote in the poll, and send any hidden-gem caterers my way at [email protected].

Safe travels, happy plates, and see you around town.
