There’s a little bit of everything on the calendar this week: a heartfelt car show with a powerful mission, a free Mardi Gras-style party at The Cove, and a Pilates flow on the beach if you’re feeling ambitious before Sunday brunch. 

If you’re looking for something a little more laid-back, Mahj at Mercato is back, and Artis—Naples has James Ehnes performing Music of Film. Gulfshore Playhouse is also gearing up for Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, which opens next week.

As with every week, there’s no shortage of reasons to get out and enjoy Naples. Here’s a little encouragement to get something on your calendar.

This car show brings together sleek rides and community spirit for a meaningful cause. Hosted in honor of Anthony Di Norcia Jr., the event is designed to raise awareness around prostate cancer, early detection, and the families affected by it. Peruse exotic and luxury cars, along with local vendors, raffles, and giveaways throughout the morning. Event page. 

If you’re in the mood for a little Mardi Gras energy, this one brings it. Beads, Bands & Brews is a free night of live music with The Lineup Band, plus drink specials, food trucks, prize giveaways, and plenty of purple, green, and gold along the way. VIP tickets are also available for guests who want reserved seating and a few extras. Free. Event info. 

Start the day with working out with a side of Gulf Breeze. This all-levels Pilates flow is set right on the sand, with a focus on strength, flexibility, and a slower start to the weekend. The experience also includes a welcome drink, aromatherapy, guided meditation, cold towels, and a post-class refresher. Event page. 

Mahjong is back at Mercato for an evening of tiles, wine, and open play in the Piazza. Hosted by Naples Mahjong, the event includes a complimentary glass of wine for each guest, with additional beverages available for purchase at the bar. A portion of the proceeds benefits Baby Basics of Collier County, which gives the night a little extra purpose. Registration is required, and spots are limited. Tickets. 

James Ehnes returns to Artis—Naples with a program that moves from the dramatic to the cinematic. The concert features music by Dukas, James Newton Howard, Korngold, Mahler, and Gershwin, all performed with the Naples Philharmonic under Alexander Shelley. Ehnes is known for his expressive playing and this performance shows a combination of brilliance and emotion. A fun event for classical music fans and movie score lovers alike. Tickets. 

This Broadway hit tells the story of Carole King’s rise from young songwriter to one of the defining voices of a generation. The show includes a string of familiar hits like “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” “I Feel the Earth Move,” and “One Fine Day.” If you’re planning ahead for next week, this is one to watch as tickets are going quickly.  Tickets. Small venues every time won our poll with 32% of the vote! Most readers like getting out to see live music without the big arena hassle, but there’s a nice subset of you that appreciate the scaled-up concert experience. I’ll be sure to feature more small venue shows going forward, but I’ll still feature some popular arena shows. 

A good week in Naples does not always need to be complicated. Sometimes it is just about having a few good options, picking one that fits your mood, and giving yourself a reason to get out and enjoy where you live.

That is what makes a calendar like this useful. It helps turn a regular week into something a little more memorable, whether that means supporting a meaningful local cause, catching live music, trying something new, or simply making space for a fun evening with people you enjoy.
